Apple and Admob

It seems like technical reporting keeps getting worse and worse. The newest thing to slam Apple with is that they are preventing Admob and Google (google bought them) from collecting data from iPhone users. The press is all over the place to the point that some are claiming Apple is blocking all third party advertisers which is false.

So why are they blocking Google? Looking at their agreement they are blocking advertisers that are also in the mobile market meaning they develop phones, tablets or similar technology. Why? Because they are using the iPhone and Apple's customer's data to try and improve their own products. Of course Apple isn't going to allow that.

Google doesn't tell Microsoft or Yahoo how their search works. If you owned a Successful coffee shop you wouldn't give away your customer, sales or survey info to other local shops. It would hurt your business.

If Google thinks ads on the iPhone are important than they can sell off Android and get on like everyone else.
